Smart Zanolena, “Rio”, is the 1999 NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Champion and $116,000 winner.

Once in a lifetime, a horse that is truly special comes along. Smart Zanolena is one of those horses. His natural talent as a cow horse, cutter and reiner is evident in his performance and through his offspring. Smart Zanolena’s 2003 filly, Days Zanolena (out of Chex Out This Day, by Peppy Badger Chex), ridden by Tucker Robinson, has earned over $155,000 in the NRCHA, including the 2007 and 2008 Stakes Open Championships and Intermediate Open Championships.

The 2005 filly, It Must Be Your Day, ridden by Phil Hanson, has won more than $40,500 in NCHA events. Another daughter, Smart Little Diva, has won more than $30,000 at NCHA events. In the cutting arena, Zanolena Day won the 2004 NWCHA Amateur Derby.

Smart Zanolena is by the incomparable Smart Chic Olena and out of Zanee Lynx. Smart Zanolena’s pedigree is full of some of the best originators the American Quarter Horse has ever offered, providing a strong foundation for natural talent in the generations to come.
